Everything In Its place, 2017,
Multi-Channel Video Installation
Reel Asian Film Festival, Toronto
Motion Capture, 3D Rendering
Everything In Its Place was a multi-channel video installation that was exhibited at the Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival in 2017. As a design research assistant at the Public Visualization Lab, my role was to support the artists Patrick Cruz, Serena Lee and Casey Mecija with the production of 3D assets and 2D visuals. This would potentially include creating assets and content using photogrammetry, motion capture, drone footage, photography or video. Photogrammetry was used to scan topical objects and locations, these assets were then imported into Maya, choreographed and animated in accordance with the artist's direction. I assisted with motion capture sessions, photography, video, creating 3D models and constructing and rendering scenes in Maya using Arnold Renderer and OCAD University’s render farm. The artist was presented with several rendered scenes and footage, which they incorporated with other assets, audio, text, captioning and live-action footage, to ultimately produce their final piece. The final installation was presented in a three-channel video projection format.
